That Ginger Actor: Adventures of an actor at RCS
LONG OVERDUE UPDATE

We Finished Up Voice and Movement Basics.

I find that both work well for me but I connect more with the movement elements.

Stansislavski work:

  • Very regimented.
  • Very intellectual.
  • Scientific in its approach.
  • Need to be applied physically and not just through discussion.
  • Grounded in “realism” but elements are universal

I’m MOST interested in finding those universal elements.

(Lead the way Jerzy Grotowski!)

I need to find a mentor.

Possible mentors:

  • Sarah Hankins
  • Sir Ian McKellen (Long Shot but what is there to lose?)
  • Edward Bennet (The Understudy who replaced David Tennant in the RSC Hamlet)
  • Mark Rice-Oxley (One of the Original actors from Pool (no Water) which I will soon get to)

Research topic:

  • Using Shakespeare as a basis for devised/physical theatre development.

What does that mean? HELL IF I KNOW. That’s what my brain is focusing on at this moment.
